I have a bad habit of not researching things that I should, and in this particular case, I believe that the ghost in question goes back much further in time than the trailer in which he was seen.
Several nights, while staying in a Trailer in Wake Forest, North Carolina, I woke up to see a man standing at the foot of the bed. Leo was next to me, sound asleep, and this man didn't look like him anyway. He was fairly tall (over six feet) and wore a red flannel shirt and blue jeans. He had dark hair and a shaggy beard, reminding me, to be certain, of a lumberjack. In North Carolina.
At any rate, I had begun to think that I'd just gotten into the habit of seeing things, because we've lived in so many haunted places, after all, but the next night, Leo and I woke up at the same time and both saw the same man, standing at the foot of our bed.
He always had a sad expression on his face, and there was nothing threatening about him. I'm not sure at all why he was there, or what he wanted, but Leo suspects that he was trying to protect me from something, as I was the one who saw him the most.
Not being psychic, we have no more information about him than simply what we saw. I believe that this was a spirit, as opposed to a ghost, coming to warn me or protect me from something. There was no indication that this man didn't know or believe that he was dead, and he did not give the impression of having been trapped.
These days I would surely do more research about what I'd seen, rather than making assumptions. However, this is one particular story that will stay with me for a very long time. |
