I've been wondering..

I've been visiting some other EVP sites and stuff and on a lot of them, I see indicatiors of the status of the magnetic feild and also solar "storms".

What does the activity from the earth and sun have to do with paranormalinvestigations?

Frankly, I can't answer part of this question, but I will ask Leo to make a statement about this, because he's been at this longer than either Jessica or myself. However, I can tell you that my particular religious beliefs assert that there are certain times of the year when it's best to go out "ghost hunting." In particular, on Halloween (October 31st) or on Samhain (November 1st). Any time between the Autumn Equinox (Usually around September 21st) and Samhain works well, too.

I've also heard that during a new moon can be a good time to pick up spirit activity, but I haven't been able to confirm that as we haven't done any experiments. This might be something to experiment with ourselves.

Can you give some URLs of the places you've looked at this information, please?

While I can't speak expertly to the metaphysical reasons why the time around Halloween may or may not be an especially good time to encounter ghostly activity, I believe that there is reason to expect to have a better than normal chance to catch EVP or electronic evidence at this time.

Mainly, it has everything to do with electromagnetic interference.

1. The orbit of the earth is elliptical (slightly) and during the epogee we are furthest away from the sun, reducing its impact on electronic devices.

2. In the northern hemisphere we are simultaneiously tilted away from the sun, forcing any interfering radiation to work through a thicker amount of magnetosphere, also lessing the impact of solar interferance.

3. As to moon phase, a new moon reflects radiation less than any other phase.

These three things may not neccessarily insure more activity than any other time, but they do mean that you will have less of a chance of having a weak EVP getting squelched by ambient radiative electronic interference.

Can somebody tell me what that is in plain English?

I think I understand what he's saying. I didn't really talk to him about it last night when I wanted to.

Basically, radiation from the sun interferes with electronics. Therefore, the less radiation there is, the less interference there is and the more EVPs you get, along with getting higher quality EVPs.

A new moon is a good time to capture EVPs because the moon isn't reflecting the sunlight at all during that phase. A full moon would therefore, by the same token, be a bad auspice to record EVPs.

Does that make more sense?

Least not to forget all the microwave towers (Cell phone towers) that is out there now. Plus you have wireless broadband for computer internet.
Satellite dishes, Plus, Plus, Plus....................

Look at all the sound/radio/cell waves that spirits have now to ride in on.
