First of all, let me make it clear that this is just what we're calling this place. It is an old farm house and there is a cemetary at the end of the road it's situated on. Most of the graves are marked "Ray" so we call this the Ray Farm.
This is the place that we were uncomfortable going back to at night. We were trying to get out there by about seven o'clock so that it wouldn't be dark, but unfortunately the traffic on US 1 was backed up and we found that we didn't have a great deal of choice in the time that we arrived.
At any rate, we parked some distance down the road and began walking towards the house. The dark was pretty intimidating, but we had two flashlights with us, and did manage to make it right out to where the house itself was, further than we'd been on the previous occasion.
This time there was no oppressive cold, just the oppressive darkness that seemed to swallow our flashlight beams. Neither of us had a strong sense of a "wall" that we'd had the first time, and the only similar sounds were those of the acorns that were falling on the metal roof of the house.
What we did hear, however, was voices. A lot of voices. Most of them sounded similar to "banshee" sounds, but there was also the sound of voices talking.
At one point, Leo and I both saw a light brown/tan dog standing near one of the trees, and I saw a cat in the window (which I suspect was probably a living cat).
When the light beams seemed to be draining more rapidly than before, we finally headed back and went to the Mill to try to record some more EVPs. That story on its way. |
